Pilot Site Obtained for fall of 2017


Cedar Ridge Townhomes and Apartments




RLC has created a relationship with Renewing Management, Inc. to create a pilot site at Cedar Ridge Townhomes and Apartments in Anderson, Indiana. We are thrilled to be working with such a progressive property management company.


Together, we are hosting an "Education/Career Event" for Cedar Ridge residents at their community clubhouse on July 15th and 22nd, 2017, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. EXCEL Center, WorkOne, and Ivy Tech will be on hand to give information or register residents for local education and economic opportunities. Once residents have been connected to needed informa-tion, RLC will provide access to licensed teachers, computers, and a quiet place to study, any Saturday, as needed, in the Cedar Ridge clubhouse.

Tutoring Starts Saturday, September 9, 2017




RLC is working with several Cedar Ridge residents after getting to know them at our inaugural "Education-Career Event." Residents sought informa-tion on affordable local med-tech programs, free career classes and free diploma recovery options. One resident earnestly asked the question, "Can you just help me learn to read better?" Since RLC offers free Saturday tutoring in the clubhouse from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. the answer to that question was a resounding, "Yes, we can!" Tutoring starts September 9, 2017 and will occur on an "as requested" basis.

Save the date for Saturday, January 27, 2018 (10:30-11:30 a.m.) for an Edward Jones & Co., "Bring Balance to Your Budget" presentation at the Cedar Ridge Townhomes and Apartments clubhouse. Hosted in tandem by RLC and Cedar Ridge, Edward Jones financial advisor, Mr. Kennith Meeks, will present and address four points:


1. Financial Goal Setting

2. How to Balance Saving/Spending/Borrowing

3. Strategies for Controlling Debt

4. Practical Retirement Savings Options


This event is free and open to the public, and not just for Cedar Ridge residents. Hope to see you there! Bring a friend!


"Bring Balance to your budget" seminar


A Powerful Hour on January 27, 2018




Several Cedar Ridge residents participated in this powerful hour of instruction, outlined in our blog above. Participants were so excited about what they learned, it was suggested that we make this an "on-going opportunity" for residents. The "Cedar Ridge Financial Literacy Learning Community" will continue to be available to residents the first Saturday of every month from 10:30-11:30 a.m., in the comfort of the Cedar Ridge clubhouse. Any resident or member of the surrounding community, may make an appt. for budget analysis and financial goal setting by calling (317)531-4536. We encourage residents to move toward debt-free living and greater peace of mind. Starbucks provided the delicious coffee for our first seminar, healthy breakfast was provided by RLC, and financial education was provided by Ed Jones representative, Kennith Meeks.
