Resource Learning Communities

The Cedar Ridge Clubhouse is such a cozy setting for our "Bring Balance to Your Budget" learning community! Participants came prepared for today's meeting with completed "Monthly Budget Analysis" worksheets, homework from our initial meeting together.

Once debt to income snapshots are complete, Mr. Kennith Meeks, our very own Ed Jones representative, is able to make confidential, money-saving recommendations for each individual.

This is an on-going, as needed, learning community so any first Saturday is a great "first day" to meet and get started with a budget analysis!

Today's focus was our community garden "call out."

Several residents responded and are excited to help with a community garden experience!

Two residents would prefer "potted gardens" on their patios, and we are happy to individualize for those who would prefer a more personalized experience!

Cedar Ridge management will build several 4' x 16' beds that will look like the garden beds in this picture, taken at another Renewing Management property. Garden beds will be assembled by volunteers on June 7th at 6 p.m. Planting date will be June 15th!

Meet Jamy! He has planted, from left to right, basil, tomato plant, and kale in his patio pots. Jamy LOVES his patio garden and says, "I look forward to taking care of it because it gives me something to do each day!" He has done such a good job caring for his garden, he has earned the nickname, "Plant Daddy." Jamy is even helping his neighbor with her patio garden, since she is so busy.

Six Cedar Ridge community garden beds have been assembled! Volunteers from Mercy Road Church in Carmel worked alongside residents and their kids to build the frames and fill them with soil. It was fun for everyone! Now that several garden beds have been planted, stay tuned for gardening updates!
